Are you struggling to connect in your relationship? Has communication become challenging and unproductive? Do you feel like you are losing grip on yourself or losing sight of the love in your relationship while life’s stress and challenges swirl around you?
I want to help. I have more than 15 years of experience as a couples and family therapist, and the primary goal of my practice is to create and hold space where clients can process and resolve these very challenges. My role as a therapist is to help couples and families make sense of situations and emotions that are complex, confusing, or hurtful and help guide them through a process of connection, healing, and growth.
I have extensive experience working with couples who struggle with breaches of trust, couples who are “fighting all the time”, and couples who have lost a sense of emotional connection and intimacy. I specialize in navigating life transitions and stress including parenthood, career transitions, financial stress, or supporting for children with behavioral health challenges.
I provide education, skill development, and coaching to help clients explore deeper issues. During therapy, clients develop a better understanding of themselves and loved ones and begin to create new, more productive and fulfilling ways of communicating and relating. In the therapy process, I will equip clients with knowledge and skills to help manage stress and transitions and feel confident that as life changes, they will grow together rather than apart.
I use humor, warmth, and curiosity to connect with clients and create a therapy process that is collaborative and productive. My style is active, compassionate, and realistic. I provide feedback, direction, structure, and accountability to clients during sessions that supports progress toward their goals. My clients will get insights, skills, and direction right away.
In addition to private practice, I have experience providing therapy across levels of care and community settings, including hospitals, residential/rehab programs, and intensive outpatient (IOP/PHP) settings. I held the positions of Clinical Director and Executive Director at multiple prestigious behavioral health programs.
I work primarily with couples and maintain a clinical caseload comprised of 90% couples, but I also provide individual and family therapy.
